We build fast and iterate quickly.Who We're Looking ForWe are seeking a motivated and technically capable Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems and next-generation space technologies. In this role, you will contribute to the development of spacecraft avionics, communications, power systems, embedded electronics, and hardware integration while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across the full spacecraft lifecycle.You will play a key role in developing reliable, flight-ready electrical hardware that enables mission success for national security, civil, and commercial space programs. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer who is eager to work hands-on with cutting-edge aerospace hardware in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.You'll Make an ImpactSupport the design, analysis, integration, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems and subsystemsAssist in the development of avionics hardware, electrical interfaces, wiring harnesses, communications systems, and spacecraft power distribution architecturesPerform schematic capture, electrical analysis, component selection, and support printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout activitiesSupport spacecraft hardware integration and testing in laboratory, cleanroom, and environmental test environmentsPerform electrical troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), logic analyzers, power supplies, and other laboratory instrumentationAssist with hardware bring-up, validation testing, anomaly investigation, and corrective action implementationDevelop and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams, test procedures, and design recordsCollaborate with software, propulsion, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and integration teams to support spacecraft development and verificationParticipate in design reviews, technical trade studies, failure investigations, and engineering assessmentsSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance electrical design processes, testing methodologies, and system reliabilityWhat It TakesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline0–3 years of professional engineering experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, automotive, or another high-reliability engineering environmentFundamental understanding of analog and digital electronics principlesFamiliarity with circuit design, schematic development, electrical analysis, and troubleshooting techniquesExperience using laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, and logic analyzersExposure to embedded systems, avionics hardware, spacecraft electrical architectures, or similar complex electronic systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationStrong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teamsComfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative product development environmentNice-to-Have ExperienceExperience supporting spacecraft, satellite, avionics, robotics, aerospace, or defense programsFamiliarity with spacecraft communication protocols including RS-422, RS-485, SpaceWire, LVDS, Ethernet, I2C, and SPIExperience using ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar platformsExposure to FPGA development, microcontrollers, embedded software, or hardware/software integrationExperience with electrical simulation tools such as LTspice or equivalentFamiliarity with environmental qualification testing including thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, EMI/EMC, or shock testingProgramming or automation experience using Python or similar scripting languagesKnowledge of ESD control practices, cleanroom operations, and hardware handling proceduresParticipation in university, internship, research, or professional engineering projects involving aerospace, robotics, or defense technologiesWhat You'll GetOwnership – Contribute directly to the design, integration, and validation of mission-critical spacecraft electrical systemsInnovation – Help develop advanced aerospace technologies enabling next-generation space mobility and operationsImpact – Support the delivery of reliable, flight-ready hardware for national security, civil, and commercial space missionsGrowth – Join a collaborative engineering team where you'll gain hands-on experience across spacecraft development, integration, testing, and mission executionCompensation – Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, FSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharingLocation: Rockville, MD or Hawthorne, CABase Salary: $80,000 to $125,000The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors.
