Steward Supervisor

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stewarding department, ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment, dishwashing operations, and back-of-house spaces. This position leads stewarding team members, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, supports culinary and banquet operations, and maintains adequate supplies of clean service ware for all events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, coach, and develop stewarding team members.
• Assign daily work responsibilities and monitor productivity throughout each shift.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels to support multiple events and kitchen operations.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
• Oversee all dishwashing operations, ensuring timely cleaning and sanitizing of china, glassware, silverware, pots and pans, kitchen utensils, cooking equipment and banquet equipment
• Maintains product cost and labor cost according to budget.
• Supervises and trains hourly staff to ensure policy and procedures are implemented.
• Maintains consistent, efficient service during peak hours.
• Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 23 years of stewarding or kitchen sanitation experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in hospitality, hotels, convention centers, casinos, stadiums, arenas, or high-volume food service.
• Knowledge of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
