Pipe Welders 1st Class (per-diem, bonus)

Job Description: Pipe Welder Dayshiftpay: $52.00 Nightshiftpay: $53.00 Per-diem: $180.00 Sign-On Bonus: $1000 Work location: Pascagoula, MS Responsible for performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. The shipyard environment isanaround the clock manufacturing setting. Production areas at times involve working atdifferentheights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Welder may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Client stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards. Types of metal materials with a variety of welding processes; the most basic of which are, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as stick welding and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as wire welding. Must pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted). The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5 schedule 80 carbon steelpipe. GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018electrodeused for weld fill portion and cap. Basic Qualifications:
7+years of Pipe Welding experience. Must have experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as stick welding . Safety Environmental Factors: All employees are expected to adhere to the companys safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
