Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations within a high-volume agricultural processing facility specializing in extracted humate products. This role oversees production personnel, ensures safe and efficient plant operations, and drives consistent throughput, quality, and performance across assigned shifts. The Production Supervisor serves as a hands-on leader who supports equipment operations, monitors production processes, and coordinates with maintenance, quality, and plant leadership to achieve operational goals. Responsibilities Supervise and lead production operators to ensure safe, efficient, and productive plant operations. Monitor production processes, including temperature, pressure, flow rates, and other critical operating parameters to maintain product quality and throughput. Coordinate daily production schedules and staffing requirements to meet customer demand and operational objectives. Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures. Troubleshoot production issues and equipment abnormalities, partnering with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Monitor and optimize equipment performance including dryers, mixers, conveyors, pumps, and bulk material handling systems. Review and maintain production records, batch documentation, process logs, and operational reports. Train, mentor, and develop production personnel while supporting onboarding and ongoing skill development. Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, waste reduction, and cost savings. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while promoting a strong safety culture. Communicate production performance, operational challenges, and improvement initiatives to plant leadership. Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. 3+ years of manufacturing, industrial processing, or production operations experience required. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required. Experience operating or overseeing industrial production equipment such as dryers, mixers, conveyors, pumps, or bulk material handling systems preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and resolve operational issues. Experience working in process manufacturing, agricultural processing, chemical processing, food manufacturing, or related industries preferred. Ability to read, follow, and enforce technical procedures, production documentation, and safety protocols. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in OSHA-regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Key Success Factors Safety-first leadership approach.
