Description

American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a Behavioral Health unit requiring an active OH or compact RN license and 2+ years of psych nursing experience.

Details

• Behavioral Health unit within a 72-bed facility
• Adult patient population with diagnoses including addiction, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and schizophrenia
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6
• Uses HCS EHR, Pyxis, and paper charting
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Scheduled for every other weekend, with 24 weekend hours required per two-week period
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) required
• Current BLS and Handle With Care (HWC) certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required
• Experience with COWS, CIWA, Code Blue and violent patient response, admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and emergency/routine medication administration required
• De-escalation skills required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient admissions, discharges, shift assessments, medication administration, and de-escalation of behavioral crises
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs with a shirt underneath or scrub coat; hoods are not permitted
