Pay Rate: $52.33

Scope of Work:  

The Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician performs maintenance and repairs to equipment as it pertains to his/her trade under the direct supervision of his/her immediate superior. The position performs a combination of mechanical maintenance and electrician duties, including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment used for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. 

Responsibilities:  

• Examine machines, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems to diagnose the source of trouble, determine needed repairs, and restore equipment to proper operating condition. 
• Repair machinery and mechanical equipment by dismantling, partially dismantling, and performing repairs that may include scraping and fitting parts, replacing broken or defective components, reassembling equipment, and making necessary adjustments for operation. 
• Install, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, and other transmission equipment. 
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, specifications, work orders, wiring diagrams, and other technical documents to plan and complete assigned work. 
• Locate, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues in electrical systems, equipment, machinery, and related components using electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. 
• Perform calculations relating to load requirements of wiring, electrical equipment, and related system performance. 
• Obtain replacement parts from stock; coordinate replacement parts through a machine shop when needed; and prepare written specifications for major repairs or parts ordered from machine shops. 
• Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, company standards, and customer requirements. 
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and completed work. 
• Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed. 
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:  

• Must possess rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in maintenance mechanic and electrician work. 
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance. 
• Must be knowledgeable of national and local electrical codes. 
• Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, electrician's hand tools, measuring and testing instruments, and appliances needed for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, circuits, fixtures, and hardware. 
• Active state or local electrician licensure, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, as required for this position. 
• Must be able to follow maintenance instructions, schedules, inspections, work orders, and other job assignments. 
• Must be able to perform maintenance services, diagnose system or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs when required. 
• Must have knowledge of the composition, operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of mechanical and electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls. 
• Must be able to plan, lay out, and complete the installation, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various mechanical and electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls. 
• Must be able to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and other technical documents. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.   
• Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.   
• Must hold and maintain a Tier 3 (Secret Clearance) or Tier 5 background check (Top Secret / SCI Clearance), as required for the position.   
• Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.  

Physical Demands / Work Environment:  

• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.  
• Must be able to work from a scissor lift and/or articulating boom lift. 
• Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays. 
• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.    

US Pay Range

$52.33—$52.33 USD
