The facility offers surgical services, a 24-hour emergency department, and extensive medical imaging capabilities. The patient population consists of adults. The department combines medical surgical and progressive care which requires staff to float between two floors. The unit has a total of 30 beds, with 6 additional overflow beds if staffing permits. Patient ratios are typically 5 or 6 patients per nurse. Common diagnoses and treatments include post-operative joint replacement, acute coronary syndrome, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, gastrointestinal issues, and renal failure. A team player who is flexible and consistent is essential for this role. The required education is an Associate’s degree in nursing. Employees are expected to wear navy scrubs.
