Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) When your shift starts at 3 PM, you’ll review the maintenance queue, sync with production, and set priorities. Some hours are spent executing preventive maintenance; others are all about rapid troubleshooting to keep lines moving. You’ll be the first call for complex equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems—restoring uptime and elevating performance. What you’ll do Execute preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and building systems—quickly and safely. Partner with production to achieve optimal equipment capability and throughput. Lead root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. Contribute to project work and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost and improve quality. Uphold 5S and GMP standards; rigorously follow all safety policies and procedures. Tune, calibrate, and adjust machines to sustain peak performance. Adapt/establish work procedures so schedules are met without compromising safety or quality. Continuously expand your knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, and technologies. Perform other duties as assigned to support operations. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed. High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience. Training or hands‑on experience in skilled trades related to industrial maintenance (mechanical, electrical, fluid power, machining, welding, etc.). Proficient and safe use of hand/power tools and electrical test equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ammeters). Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and sketches. Strong multitasking and clear communication with cross‑functional teams. Working familiarity with OSHA requirements. Demonstrated competency across mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Customer‑service mindset when supporting production teams. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs. Stand, sit, kneel, squat, and climb ladders for extended periods (approximately 40% standing, 20% sitting, 20% climbing, 20% kneeling/squatting/working in non‑routine positions each shift). Work long shifts as needed (up to 12 hours in a 24‑hour period). Perform in varying temperatures and dusty environments with PPE when required. Maintain hand dexterity for extended tool use. Overtime as business needs dictate. Language Skills Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively with groups of employees or customers. Mathematical Skills Read a tape measure accurately and efficiently. Calculate percentages, measurements, volume, and rates. Apply concepts consistent with high school mathematics. Reasoning Ability Apply common‑sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or graphic instructions, and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Technical Acumen Understand equipment design/capabilities to operate and teach others effectively. Consider cost factors when making decisions; identify improvement opportunities that reduce overall expense. Adhere to quality standards. Work within regulatory requirements including wage and hour, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements, including OSHA and EEO. Certificates & Licenses May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other certifications for specific areas or equipment. Work Environment Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions; occasional exposure to high or precarious places, fumes/airborne particles, and vibration.
