Maintenance Supervisor

Position: Maintenance Supervisor Location: Choctaw Lodge 15 Mohican-Prescott, Baton Rouge, LA Job Id: 3342 Number of Openings: 0 Job Responsibilities An excellent maintenance supervisor must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, a self‑starter, organized, capable of multi‑tasking, a good problem solver and able to prioritize workloads. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks will also be essential. The goal is to ensure that facilities are in a good and safe condition at all times. Directs employees and outside contractors with renovations such as cleaning, painting, carpet replacement, counter repairs and appliance repairs. Directs the employees and outside contractors in performing structural repairs to masonry, plumbing, woodwork, irrigation systems, swimming pools, spas and other facilities. Responsible for correcting any known life‑safety hazard. Obtains bids for work from outside contractors and assembles, analyzes and submits bids to the Community Manager with recommendations. Acknowledges receipt of all goods and materials delivered to the property for maintenance. Supervises and approves all work performed at the site by outside contractors. Conducts regular safety meetings with maintenance staff and ensures compliance with all Hazardous Materials and MSDS requirements. Upon approval from the Community Manager, establishes the work schedule for maintenance staff. Assists the Community Manager in planning and administering the maintenance budget. Participates in after‑hours and emergency response. Establishes and documents preventative maintenance programs. Creates and maintains a positive environment for staff and promotes a positive work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises maintenance employees in accordance with Mayfair’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, planning safety standards, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
