Supervising Correctional Cook, DOC-Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP)

Position Summary Supervising Correctional Cook (SCC) at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP), Ione, CA. Limited term 12 months, extendable up to 24 months or permanent. Responsibilities Direct, train, and supervise Cook Specialist I and other CF staff in food preparation and service. Manage scheduling and workload for the preparation, cooking, and serving of three meals per day for at least 300 people. Maintain culinary equipment, ensuring sanitary, clean, and safe working order. Oversee storage of food and supplies, and ensure compliance with regulations governing food service sanitation and safety. Interpret and verify compliance with relevant regulations and policies. Minimum Qualifications Completion of the eighth grade. And either: One year in the California state civil service performing duties of a Correctional Supervising Cook. Two years of supervisory experience over cooks and allied workers, responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for at least 300 persons per meal.
