Nursing Assistant Programs - Adjunct Faculty - Continuing Education

Responsibilities Implement the instructional elements of the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) approved Nursing Assistant Geriatric Nursing Assistant Curriculum Teach the CNA/GNA program Provide instruction, as needed, in the Patient Care Technician and Medicine Aide program Coordinate theory and skills instruction as dictated by the MBON Coordinate clinical instruction with health care facilities Evaluate student performance in the skills and clinical setting Weekend and evening classes are available. Pay Pay rates for non-credit courses in Continuing Education are commensurate with education and experience qualifications. Salary scales are posted on the website. Minimum Requirements To teach the CNA/GNA Program Registered nurse licensed in the state of Maryland with current practice ability Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, including at least one (1) year caring for the elderly or chronically ill (long‑term care) within the past five (5) years Minimum of sixteen (16) hours of course instruction in Principles of Adult Education or two (2) years of nursing‑related teaching experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to attend to details and multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Valid driver’s license with less than five points on a driving record (required for travel to off‑campus sites and clinical settings) To teach the Patient Care Technician Program and Medicine Aide Program Registered nurse licensed in the state of Maryland with current practice ability Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing To teach the Nurse Support Technician program and Medicine Aide Program Registered nurse licensed in the state of Maryland with current practice ability Minimum of two years of nursing experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing To teach the Nursing Refresher program Registered nurse licensed in the state of Maryland with current practice ability Minimum of two years of nursing experience and a Master’s degree in Nursing Locations Essex Dundalk Randallstown Benefits Supplemental (Retirement Annuities) 403(b) and 457(b) Tax‑sheltered annuities – 403(b).
