divh2Registered Nurse Intermediate Care (Cardiac Stepdown)/h2pCompensation: $32 to $47 per hour depending on experience/ppPosition Overview/ppThe Intermediate Care (IMC) / Cardiac Stepdown RN provides specialized care for patients requiring close cardiac monitoring who are not in critical condition but need more observation than a general med-surg floor provides. Patients may include those recovering from myocardial infarction, post-cardiac surgery, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions. Using the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and positive outcomes./ph3Minimum Education/h3ulliAssociate Degree in Nursing (required; BSN preferred)/li/ulh3Experience/h3ulliEntry-level applicants welcome/liliExperience in telemetry, stepdown, or critical care preferred/li/ulh3Licenses / Certifications/h3ulliActive RN license in Wisconsin and/or Illinois (based on assignment)/liliCurrent BLS certification (required, or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire)/liliACLS certification strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months)/li/ulh3Skills Abilities/h3ulliStrong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition/liliAbility to manage patients on cardiac drips, oxygen therapy, and post-procedure recovery/liliRapid response and escalation skills in emergent situations/liliExcellent communication and teamwork with physicians, advanced practice providers, and respiratory therapy/liliCompassionate, patient-focused approach with strong teaching skills for patients and families/li/ulh3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliProvide continuous monitoring and care to patients on cardiac stepdown, including rhythm interpretation and early detection of deterioration/liliAdminister medications, IV drips, and treatments safely and accurately/liliRespond promptly to emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions/liliCollaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to manage complex cardiac conditions/liliEducate patients and families on recovery, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions/liliMaintain clean, safe, and organized patient care areas/liliSupport orientation and mentorship of new nurses and nursing students/li/ul/div
