School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Amherst, Massachusetts

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students in a specialized setting focused on individualized growth and independence. This school-based position spans the academic year, beginning in late August and concluding in late June. Work on a close-knit team within a supportive program tailored for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other learning differences.


You'll oversee a caseload of high schoolers at a dedicated program that emphasizes life skills, communication, and social development, while guiding a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Collaborate daily with educators, families, and support staff to create meaningful educational experiences in a non-traditional classroom environment.


Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current SLP license, meeting all state regulatory requirements
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
• Prior experience in school settings, especially secondary/high school preferred
• Strong background supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders or similar learning needs
• Supervision experience or readiness to oversee an SLPA
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech and language therapy services tailored to high school students in the program
• Supervise and mentor an on-site SLPA, guiding program implementation
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans targeting communication and functional life skills
• Monitor student progress, maintain records, and contribute to IEP meetings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for cohesive support
• Communicate regularly with families and staff to reinforce educational strategies and progress
