Chemistry Laboratory Technician

Pay Rate:
$25/hour

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, standard working hours

Responsibilities:

• Batching samples for analytical analyses.
• Perform manual wet-chemistry techniques such as alkalinity, pH, conductivity, TDS and TCLP extractions.
• Perform multi-element acid digestions via hot block, hotplate and microwave procedures.
• Perform gold and copper extractions using cyanide and weak acid solutions: cyanide soluble gold (AuCN), preg-robbing gold (AuPR), cyanide soluble copper (CuCN3), and acid soluble copper (CuAS) tests.
• Digesting, filtering, and pre-roasting samples for LECO analysis.
• Prepare carbon samples for fire assay.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, coordinate ordering and inventory of consumables, and manage hazardous materials in compliance with safety protocols.
• Assess and update laboratory procedures such as SOPs, maintain clear and organized records, and actively participate in safety inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
