Job Summary

W e are seeking an experienced EDM Machine Operator to set up, program, and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to produce high-precision components that meet engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards.

Job Description

• Set up, program, and operate RAM EDM machines, including Charmilles, Mitsubishi, or similar equipment.
• Set up and operate Wire Cut EDM machines to achieve required dimensional and geometric tolerances.
  
• Set up and operate EDM Drill machines for precision hole-drilling applications.
  
• Create, edit, and optimize EDM programs to meet machining requirements and improve productivity.
  
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process sheets, and work instructions.
  
• Select and install electrodes, wire, tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices as required.
  
• Perform machine offsets and process adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and required surface finishes.
  
• Safely load and unload components using overhead cranes and approved rigging techniques.
  
• Inspect lifting equipment before use and follow all crane and material-handling safety procedures.
  
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
  
• Verify finished components meet engineering specifications and quality requirements.
  
• Identify and resolve basic machining, programming, tooling, and setup issues.
  
• Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and job documentation.
  
• Perform routine machine cleaning, housekeeping, and operator-level preventive maintenance.
  
• Maintain an organized workstation in accordance with 5S standards.
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
  
• Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  
• Cross-train and assist with similar CNC and manufacturing processes as needed.

S kills Required

• 5+ years of EDM machining experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with: Wire EDM, RAM EDM, EDM Drill machines
• Ability to perform machine setup and programming functions.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process sheets, and work instructions.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement and machining practices.
• Ability to make machine offsets and process adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components.
• Ability to safely handle large or heavy components using appropriate lifting equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Charmilles, Mitsubishi, or similar EDM equipment.
• Previous overhead crane operation experience.
• Forklift experience or certification.
• Additional CNC machining experience.
• Experience with other machining, manufacturing, or finishing equipment.
• Experience participating in continuous improvement or 5S initiatives.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required

Pay Rate

• $20 - $25 per hour (Compensation will be offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
