Fulfillment Team Lead

Hedgehog is hiring a Fulfillment Lead to run the post-harvest operation that turns freshly harvested mushrooms into packed, organized, and shipment-ready product. This role is responsible for building a high-performing packing floor, improving throughput, and ensuring the team works efficiently, consistently, and safely as the company scales. About Hedgehog Hedgehog is building technology to reduce the cost of fungi production using AI and proprietary bioreactors. The company currently focuses on mushrooms for the fresh produce sector and is working to scale production rapidly across its facilities in Georgia and Tennessee. Hedgehog’s mission is to unlock the broad set of fungal solutions that nature provides while building a more efficient and sustainable food system. Role overview The Fulfillment Lead will own the packing and fulfillment floor, making sure harvested mushrooms are sorted, packed, labeled, staged, and moved through the facility with speed and accuracy. This person will be responsible for managing people, improving systems, and creating a reliable workflow that supports growth. The role requires someone who can lead hourly workers, solve problems in real time, and continuously improve productivity across the floor. Key responsibilities Manage the packing floor from harvest intake through finished, shipment-ready product. Turn harvested mushrooms into packaged product efficiently, consistently, and with high quality. Design and improve floor layouts, workflows, and standard operating procedures to increase throughput. Lead, train, and support hourly staff to ensure strong performance and accountability. Monitor productivity, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve output. Build simple systems that help the team stay organized, on task, and consistent. Work cross-functionally with production and operations leadership to support daily execution. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and quality standards throughout the packing area. What we are looking for Strong people leadership skills and the ability to manage teams on a fast-moving floor. Highly organized, process-oriented, and attentive to detail. Comfortable building systems and improving operations from the ground up. Analytical mindset with a focus on productivity and efficiency. Strong communicator who can work well with operators, managers, and leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in operations, manufacturing, fulfillment, or team leadership. Experience managing people, workflows, or production systems in a hands-on environment. Comfort using computer tools and data systems to track productivity and operations.
