Job Summary Geisinger offers a competitive Inpatient RN position at Lewistown Hospital, with a $41.50 minimum hiring rate, up to $24,000 hiring incentive, and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. The role supports patient care for the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH) community. Responsibilities Assess, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet patient needs. Promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve the highest level of care, safety, and satisfaction. Exhibit compassionate care during patient‑nurse interactions. Coordinate patient care and staff interaction to ensure seamless care delivery. Ensure the best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions. Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs throughout the continuum of care. Formulate, coordinate, and provide plan of care per unit standards, including education, family needs, and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team. Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, according to policy and procedure. Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and revise the plan based on patient response. Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and team members to resolve patient needs proactively. Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the handling of equipment. Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice utilization. Act as a team member toward unit and organizational goals, holding accountability for unit and system metrics. Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other initiatives to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety. Qualifications Graduate of a Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required). Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (RN_State of Pennsylvania). Basic Life Support Certification (Default Issuing Body). Clinical skills, communication, interpersonal communication, organization, preceptor skills, and teamwork.
