About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred Must-Have: At least 2 years of experience preferred; previous travel experience preferred. Description: The unit consists of 18 beds on one side and 22 beds on the other. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, COPD, urologic issues, surgical cases, total joints, general surgery, and occasional pediatric respiratory illnesses. Candidates should possess excellent teamwork and communication skills. Nurses will focus on essential nursing care, including foley care, CHG bathing, and oral care. Collaboration with patient care technicians is essential to ensure tasks are completed. Touchpoints regarding the plan of care should be discussed. Charge nurses and administrative supervisors are present on each shift, with charge nurses taking on 1-2 patients. Patient care technicians are available with varying ratios based on the shift. Nurses are required to monitor telemetry strips and have access to virtual central telemetry monitoring. Shifts run from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730. Weekend requirements include every other weekend, and holiday rotations are mandatory. Nurses may float to the ICU for overflow patient care or travel to other locations as needed. Solid color scrubs are required, and no printed scrubs are permitted. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required for submission. Candidates must be willing to wait for licensure. The care setting is acute. This position requires ACLS and BLS certifications.
