High School CTE Business Teacher

CTE- Business Education Teacher This position requires a certified teacher for the purpose of teaching skills needed for success in the world of work and business management, marketing, financial services, and entrepreneurship to students at the intermediate and/or high school level. Responsibilities Reports to: Building Principal Possess all requirements for teaching business education Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes Has working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, and current researched best practices and strategies, and students' learning styles and needs Update the curriculum to meet changing IN state standards and College & Career Pathways for Business Management, Marketing, Financial Services, and Entrepreneurship Establish developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and communicate those to students and their families Provide appropriate instruction for students to earn dual credits with post‑secondary institutions when appropriate Creates lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful, and interesting, as well as multicultural, gender‑fair, disability sensitive Selects, adapts, and individualizes materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skills Demonstrate experience implementing innovative instructional programs Collaborates and communicates regularly with families in making educational decisions and uses family and community resources Regularly assesses student learning by using multiple forms of assessment Participates in ongoing and regular staff and individual professional development Teaches students the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solving Qualifications Must hold a valid Indiana Business Education license or a CTE: Business Knowledge in the use of the Microsoft Office Professional Software and other current technologies used in business education Integrate common core standards for reading, writing and math skills into the curriculum Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to drive to meetings or work sites before, during, or after the normal working day Working Conditions Mental demands: calculating, comparing, problem‑solving, evaluating, interpreting, organizing, consulting analyzing, planning, documenting, specifying, coordinating, implementing, and presenting. Physical Demands: sitting, standing, crouching, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, adjusting, connecting; lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 40 lbs.; bending, keyboarding, pulling, pushing, balancing, writing, walking, and operating equipment. Environmental Conditions: mostly inside but can be exposed to extreme weather conditions if traveling, wet and/or slippery surfaces, exposure to airborne particulates, chemical irritants, biological exposure, exposure to communicable diseases, working around moving objects, and working alone.
