Senior Product Designer

Job Overview: The Senior Product Designer will be responsible for designing intuitive and impactful design solutions for our transportation management software products. The Senior Product Designer will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other cross‑functional team members to understand user requirements, define user flows, and develop innovative, visually appealing product designs from ideation to final implementation. Key Responsibilities: User Research and Insights Conduct user research through methods such as user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights into user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Analyze customer feedback, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform design decisions. Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to translate user research into actionable design goals and strategies. Design Conceptualization and Prototyping Create and iterate on wireframes, user flows, and high‑fidelity prototypes that communicate design concepts and user interactions. Develop design concepts that prioritize simplicity, functionality, and scalability for diverse user groups within the transportation industry. Use tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar to produce polished, production‑ready designs. UI/UX Design Design visually engaging and user‑friendly interfaces across web and mobile platforms, ensuring consistency with the company’s brand identity. Create responsive, accessible designs that work seamlessly on a range of devices and screen sizes. Advocate for and apply UI/UX best practices and accessibility standards to ensure optimal user experiences. Collaboration and Cross‑Functional Communication Work closely with product managers and engineers to align on project requirements, technical constraints, and timelines. Present design solutions to stakeholders, articulating design decisions and rationale clearly and confidently. Collaborate with marketing, content, and business teams to ensure the design aligns with the overall product vision and business goals. Usability Testing and Feedback Integration Conduct usability tests to validate design concepts and iteratively improve them based on user feedback. Use qualitative and quantitative data to refine designs and enhance the overall user experience. Ensure that designs meet functional and user‑centric requirements before final handoff to development. Design Systems and Guidelines Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a design system that ensures consistency across products. Develop and document UI components, patterns, and best practices to support scalable, cohesive designs. Foster a design culture of quality, consistency, and innovation within the team. Product Strategy and Innovation Participate in brainstorming sessions and design sprints to drive innovative solutions for new product features. Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies in the transportation and logistics industry. Contribute to defining product strategy by collaborating with senior leadership on the vision and goals for the product. Metrics and Performance Evaluation Analyze user behavior data and product performance metrics to inform design optimizations and improvements. Track the success of design implementations and continuously iterate based on feedback and product performance. Compile user research, personas, and journey mapping to understand how users interact with the product, identifying pain points and opportunities. Create wireframes and low‑fidelity sketches that outline the structure and layout of a design before refining it further. Create interactive prototypes and designs that demonstrate how the product and features will function. Create and maintain design systems to facilitate design consistency across the product. Produce clear specifications and documentation to specify dimensions, colors, spacing, and behavior of designs for developers in order to ensure accurate implementation. Review final product and feature to ensure that design is implemented as expected and monitor performance and feedback for future design improvements as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer, or similar role in a fast‑paced environment. Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing for web and mobile platforms, showcasing your design process from research to execution. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Axure. Experience working on products in the transportation and logistics industry is a plus. Strong understanding of user‑centered design principles, accessibility standards, and best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and user‑centric reasoning.
