Physical Therapy Aide tasks are under supervision of a licensed therapist. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Part‑time and full‑time applicants will be considered. Must be CPR certified or eligible for CPR certification. PTS is a therapist‑owned company in Peoria, IL providing quality, evidence‑based therapy for 40 years. In the Southern IL‑area, over 100 employees work across multiple departments, including HSHS and Touchette Health Hospitals. Settings include Home Health, Inpatient, and Outpatient. Therapy Aide Duties (abbreviated job description) Safely supervises and directs clients as directed by the Physical Therapist. Apprises self of any special client precautions or needs before working with each client. Requests additional help if needed. Uses proper techniques when assisting each client on/off exercise equipment. Applies safety precautions at all times when assisting clients. Handles equipment properly and carefully. Helps with other duties whenever possible. Assists therapists with patient care tasks. Assists therapists as directed in transferring patients from one surface to another. Assists therapists as directed in evaluation procedures Assists therapists as directed in treatments. Gathers equipment for the therapists. Assists therapists in the aquatic area with patient transfers, positioning, wound care and wound dressing. Demonstrates behaviors that show a positive attitude, empathy and professionalism. Demonstrates communication skills by making customers feel welcome and respected as individuals and protecting their privacy and confidentiality. Works as a team player, enhances team effectiveness through morale and team spirit, and takes ownership in department/organization problem solving and quality improvement. Contributes to a positive organizational image by following the dress code policy, talking positively about the organization and its people, and contributing to the cleanliness of the organization.
