Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is a full-time, on-site senior leadership position based in Plantation, FL, responsible for overseeing daily operations, project execution, field technicians, and service activities across CASI's low-voltage and building automation divisions.

This position requires a highly experienced, hands-on leader with a strong technical background in fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and commercial low-voltage systems , combined with proven expertise in project management, workforce supervision, scheduling, budgeting, and operational efficiency.

The Director of Operations will oversee multiple concurrent installation and service projects, manage and coordinate teams of field technicians and subcontractors, allocate manpower and resources, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company quality standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with general contractors, customers, vendors, engineering teams, and internal departments; reviewing project schedules, drawings, and specifications; managing labor productivity and material requirements; resolving operational challenges; and ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations and industry standards.

The ideal candidate must be capable of independently managing day-to-day operations, making critical decisions, holding teams accountable, and maintaining exceptional customer relationships while working closely with company leadership to improve productivity, profitability, and overall operational performance.

• Minimum 5+ years of direct experience in the low-voltage industry , with strong knowledge of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and related electronic security systems.
• Proven Operations Management experience overseeing multiple commercial installation and service projects simultaneously.
• Strong Team Management and Leadership skills, including supervising field technicians, coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring workforce productivity.
• Extensive Project Management experience, including project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting, material procurement, and project completion.
• Solid technical understanding of fire alarm and access control systems, installation practices, troubleshooting procedures, and system integration.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Strong Budgeting and Financial Management skills, including monitoring labor costs, project expenses, profitability, and operational performance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and resolve operational challenges.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating with general contractors, facility managers, customers, vendors, and engineering professionals.
• Strong Customer Service and Communication skills, including handling escalations, maintaining professional relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of applicable Florida building codes, NFPA standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements related to low-voltage and life-safety systems.
• Experience managing technician dispatching, daily work assignments, installation schedules, service requests, and project timelines.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, take ownership of operational responsibilities, and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office, and operational reporting tools.
• Previous experience as a Director of Operations, Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, or similar leadership position strongly preferred.
• Experience with commercial, healthcare, government, or institutional projects is highly desirable.
• Relevant industry certifications, including NICET or manufacturer-specific certifications, are a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
