**This is not a remote position. The selected candidate must work from DCF Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL. **
**This position requires occasional (20% - 30%) statewide travel. **
What you will do:
The Department of Children and Families’ Office of Quality and Innovation serves as a catalyst for elevating performance statewide to support positive outcomes for Florida families. The Enterprise Project Manager plays a critical role in strengthening service delivery by managing enterprise projects that support the successful achievement of the Department’s mission.
This position provides leadership and oversight for projects and initiatives carried out in collaboration with internal teams and external partners to advance Department priorities. The position helps ensure the Department maintains strong project governance, effective planning processes, and the tools needed to guide decision-making and improve outcomes for the children and families we serve.
How you will make an impact :
Managing assigned projects by applying established project management standards, tools, and methodologies to ensure consistent and effective delivery.
Following enterprise project management frameworks, governance processes, and documentation standards to support high-quality project execution across the Department.
Leading and coordinating complex crossed departmental projects and initiatives that advance strategic priorities and improve services for children and families.
Monitoring project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies to ensure projects remain on track and aligned with organizational goals.
Preparing and maintaining project reporting, dashboards, and status updates to provide leadership with clear visibility into project progress, risks, and performance.
Facilitating project planning activities including charter development, work plans, resource coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Identifying and addressing project risks, barriers, and resource constraints, and escalating issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
Preparing clear and accurate reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders on project status, outcomes, and recommendations for improving project delivery and organizational performance.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, management, or a related field is preferred.
A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is required.
At least four years of experience managing a portfolio of complex, high-profile projects involving multiple stakeholder groups and executive-level sponsors is required.
Ability to work at DCF Headquarters Office in Tallahassee, FL and travel occasionally to complete work assignments is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of project management methodologies and lifecycle management, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
Knowledge of program and portfolio management principles, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and coordination of multiple initiatives.
Knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management practices, and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of strategic planning and performance management frameworks, including development and monitoring of organizational goals and performance measures.
Knowledge of budgeting and resource management principles related to project and program oversight.
Skill in strategic thinking and translating organizational priorities into actionable initiatives and project portfolios.
Skill in leadership and coordination of cross-functional teams and project managers.
Skill in communication and stakeholder engagement, including preparing reports and presenting project status, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.
Skill in developing and implementing standardized project management processes, policies, and best practices.
Skill in monitoring project performance and analyzing data to assess progress, identify risks, and support decision-making.
Skill in the use of project and performance management systems, such as Smartsheet, ClearPoint Strategy, or similar tools, to track initiatives, milestones, and organizational performance.
Skill in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution to support collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and initiatives simultaneously while balancing scope, schedule, resources, and risk.
Ability to influence decision-making and build alignment among leadership and stakeholders without direct authority
Ability to identify opportunities for organizational improvement and implement systems that enhance project delivery and accountability.
