Counselor (ELEM: 2026-2027) Bartow County Schools Emerson Elementary - Emerson, Georgia Job Details Starting Date: July 27, 2026 Position Type: Full-Time Job Description Position Title: School Counselor for the 2026-2027 School Year Job Details: 190 Days - Certified Salary Schedule Location: Emerson Elementary School Roles and Responsibilities: Implement or assist with implementation of a developmental counseling and guidance program, considering school needs. Conduct individual counseling in areas of educational and personal need as referred by staff, family, or self. Conduct group counseling in identified areas. Conduct classroom activities to support instruction, educational transition, career awareness, and personal development. Assist with administration of standardized group testing. Maintain and provide as needed records, reports, and transcripts to support student functions, activities, and graduation. Consult and coordinate staff, parents, and community resources. Assist in implementing crisis management plans. Provide information to students and parents on career awareness and life development. Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate, and/or credential as may be required. Participate in the Student Support Team process as designated. Follow federal and state laws as well as policies of the Bartow County Board of Education and School System. Maintain prompt and regular attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Certification or Training: Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission certificate in School Counseling. Skills: Ability and knowledge to effectively work as a counselor at any school level; proficient planning, organizational, and communication skills – oral & written. Experience: No previous experience required. Requirements: Master’s degree preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
