Job Overview Academic Services Coordinator to join the Office of Academic Services at the Gould School of Law. Responsibilities Assist in conceptualizing, planning, preparing, and coordinating curriculum development and revision activities. Develop and refine curriculum minors in collaboration with faculty. Receive, review, and analyze requests for changes in course and degree programs and academic policies and procedures. Advise deans, department chairs, faculty, and staff on submission requirements for requests. Assist faculty and staff in preparing and presenting new or modified courses, programs, and policy change requests. Determine whether proposals are acceptable for review and schedule requests for review by appropriate university committees. Prepare and maintain accurate degree progress summaries for graduate or undergraduate students and credit summaries for work taken at USC and other domestic institutions. Update the student record computer system and generate requested documents or reports. Verify student information as requested. Respond to questions from students and staff regarding registration, course scheduling, degree checks, transcripts, diplomas, academic status, and petitions. Respond to emails sent to the Academic Services mailboxes. Counsel students on transfer credit evaluations and degree requirements and provide alternative solutions or direct to appropriate units. Prepare backup material and documentation for student petitions. Assist with preparation, dissemination, or updates of bulletins, newsletters, handbooks, guides, fact sheets, brochures, and online content related to academic services. Assist with planning and administration of final exams and scheduling of classes and final exams. Process grades and cover the department's reception area as needed. Update the department policy and procedure manual. Train student workers. Coordinate with Publications to ensure accurate recording in the catalogue and schedule of classes. Conduct periodic course reviews to keep the catalog current. Maintain detailed records of curricula and policy documents, and coordinate storage and retrieval. Stay current on ABA and school-wide standards, policies, procedures, and regulations related to admissions, financial aid, registration, transfer credit evaluation, course and degree requirements, petitions, and student services. Assist with the development and implementation of program policies and procedures. Assist with final exam administration and proctoring at the end of Fall and Spring semesters and commencement each year. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Less than 1 year of experience. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with student record systems and academic policy. Compensation Hourly rate range: $26.33 – $29.93.
