Inside Sales Technical Sales

Location: Mount Airy, MD (On-site) Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications About Thermal Devices Thermal Devices is a leading distributor of industrial electric process heaters, temperature controls, sensors, and process heating solutions. Position Summary The Inside Technical Sales Representative is responsible for providing technical sales support and exceptional customer service for industrial electric heating and process control products. This role works closely with customers, manufacturers, and the outside sales team to prepare quotations, provide technical assistance, process orders, follow up on projects, and identify opportunities to grow existing and new customer relationships. Essential Responsibilities Respond to customer inquiries regarding industrial electric heaters, temperature controls, sensors, and related products. Prepare quotes, bids, and proposals based on customer requirements. Process customer orders and provide order status, tracking information, and follow-up. Provide technical support and product recommendations to customers and the sales team. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts. Prospect for new business through outbound phone calls and follow-up activities. Coordinate with manufacturers regarding pricing, product availability, lead times, and technical information. Maintain accurate customer and sales activity within the company's ERP and CRM systems. Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure customer satisfaction. Continuously develop product knowledge and stay current on industry trends. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field); equivalent experience will be considered. Strong communication and customer service skills. Technical aptitude with the ability to learn industrial products and applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/CRM experience preferred.
