Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Nephrology

Location: Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV), Wilkes Barre Campus (United States) Shift: Days | Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 | Worker Type: Regular | Exemption Status: Yes Job Summary: Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Nephrology team to deliver both inpatient and outpatient care on our Wilkes Barre Campus. Prior Nephrology training is not required; the selected candidate will receive on‑the‑job training and support to work collaboratively or semi‑independently with our providers in a fast‑paced inpatient/outpatient environment. Responsibilities Assist inpatient providers with new consults and inpatient follow‑ups for patients with acute kidney injury and electrolyte abnormalities. Evaluate dialysis patients and write inpatient dialysis orders. Assist with inpatient charting and documentation. Assist providers in outpatient Nephrology clinic. Position Details Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant (Required); Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant (Preferred). Certifications and Licenses: Basic Life Support Certification; Certified Physician Assistant – National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
