Description
The Fire Department of Liberty Township is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Operator to join our team in Clayton. This is a full-time, remote position ideal for an entry-level professional looking to build a career in public safety administration. In this role, you will support the department's daily operations by maintaining accurate and organized records that help keep our community safe and our services running smoothly.
As a Data Entry Operator, you will work with sensitive fire and emergency services information, ensuring that every record is entered correctly and promptly. You will collaborate with administrative staff, fire personnel, and other departments to keep our data systems reliable and up to date. This position plays a vital role in supporting the department's mission and offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to public safety from a remote work environment.

Responsibilities
- Enter and update data into department databases and record management systems
- Verify accuracy and completeness of information before entry
- Review and correct discrepancies in existing records
- Maintain organized digital files and documentation for fire and emergency service records
- Prepare and process routine reports as requested by supervisors
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Respond to data-related inquiries from department staff
- Assist with scanning, digitizing, and archiving physical documents
- Follow established data entry procedures and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to improve data accuracy and workflow
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Entry-level experience; prior data entry or clerical experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic proficiency with computers and data entry software
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Good typing speed and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable home workspace
