Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit. This includes circulating duties, patient monitoring, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role requires a minimum of two years of experience and proficiency in relevant skills and certifications.

Location:Orange, California, United States

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to laboring patients and newborns.
- Circulate in Labor and Delivery procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and fetal heart tones.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in Epic.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NRP certification.
- AWHONN Intermediate certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- Must be able to circulate.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- AWHONN Advanced certification.
- Experience in large hospital settings.

Special Considerations:

- Must be able to work weekends.
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
- Facility has the ability to call off once per pay period (2 weeks).

Scheduling:
- 3x12 hour day shifts (07:00-19:30).
- Shifts may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs.
