Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

About the Role Our client, a leading multidisciplinary therapy center in Paarl, Western Cape , is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. You will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. This is a hybrid position, requiring regular on-site sessions for direct patient care and therapy, with flexibility for remote administrative tasks, documentation, and teletherapy sessions. We are looking for a dedicated SLP committed to improving the quality of life for their clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual client needs. Provide direct therapy services to clients, both in-person and through teletherapy. Educate clients and their families on communication strategies and swallowing techniques. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes and reports. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure coordinated care. Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology through continuing education. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the center's professional development. Manage caseload efficiently and adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards. Adapt therapeutic approaches for diverse client populations, including children and adults. Requirements A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field. Professional registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., Health Professions Council of South Africa - HPCSA). Proven clinical experience in assessing and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. Excellent diagnostic, therapeutic, and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families. Proficiency in using teletherapy platforms and technology for remote service delivery. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
