Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

General Information:

• Unit Name: Emergency Department
• Unit Size: 101 Beds
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Certifications Required:
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• NIHSS
• ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
• Staffing Description:
• Technicians available for support in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas.
• Unit clerks are present for both day and night shifts.

Scheduling Requirements: Candidate must be willing to work every other weekend. Scheduling will be according to the needs of the department.

Patient Experience and Care Standards: Employee will be expected to uphold high standards of patient experience by practicing respectful behavior and ensuring communication throughout patient visits.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level II trauma center or a comprehensive stroke center with high volume (>100,000 visits per year).
• At least 1 year of experience as an EMT or similar role.
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to provide coaching and feedback in real-time.
