Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: CA RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: BSN Description: This is a Neuro ICU position in a high acuity environment. The nurse will be responsible for comprehensive care of stroke patients. Ability to float to other facilities may be required. Previous experience in a Neuro ICU or Trauma ICU is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Experience with ventilated patients, central line care, and continuous IV sedation is essential. The RN should have a background in neuro intensive care management, including CVA and acute stroke management. Strong skills in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing dysrhythmias are required. Experience with external ventricular drains and lumbar drains is preferred. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and social services. Periodic reassignment to different departments or facilities may occur based on staffing needs. Teaching hospital experience is required. References from the most recent employer are needed for application. The use of Epic for charting is necessary. Completion of mandatory modules is required prior to start.
