This role owns the entire customer journey - from prospecting and closing new accounts, to cross-selling and upselling, to ongoing account management and customer success. Key Responsibilities
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to close sales. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets
- identify and generate new business through targeted market research, networking and lead generation activities.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
- Identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the company's product and services offerings as customer needs evolve.
- Collaborate with team and management to develop effective sales strategies and best practices that drive commercial growth and customer retention.
- Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets for new business, retention, and account growth.
- Interact regularly with management and develop cooperative working relationships with operational colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in freight forwarding, third-party logistics (3PL), transportation, or supply chain services.
- Experience selling across multiple freight modes or service lines (e.g., LTL, truckload, air, ocean, brokerage) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, preferred.
- Demonstrated success as a hunter, with a track record of winning new business and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing accounts post-sale, with a track record of building strong customer relationships.
- Existing book of relevant industry relationships or contacts, preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of freight forwarding services (e.g., domestic/international transportation modes, customs brokerage basics) or the ability to learn quickly.
- Comfortable using CRM tools to track activities and report progress, Hubspot experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with strong time-management and prioritization skills; able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 annually (based on experience and market).
- Commission Plan: Uncapped commissions tied to new business gross margin and overall portfolio performance. On-target earnings of $150,000 - $220,000+ for top performers.
- Starting pay will vary based on education, experience, skills, and demonstrated sales track record.
