Small Steps Big Wins Counseling is seeking an Outpatient Therapist to provide compassionate, evidence-informed mental health care to clients in an outpatient setting.

Position Summary

The Outpatient Therapist delivers high-quality therapeutic services to youth and their families, supporting recovery, resilience, and meaningful progress. This role blends clinical judgment, strong rapport-building, and thoughtful documentation to ensure continuity of care.

In a Hybrid role based in Swedesboro, NJ, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with client goals and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychotherapy services, including assessment, diagnosis support, and ongoing treatment delivery

• Develop, review, and update individualized treatment plans based on client progress and clinical observations

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation consistent with agency standards and applicable regulations

• Assess risk and determine appropriate next steps, including escalation when needed, in coordination with clinical leadership

• Partner with families, caregivers, and referral sources as appropriate to strengthen support systems and outcomes

• Clinicians must be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours weekly.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s-level training in a behavioral health or counseling discipline (or equivalent clinical licensure pathway)

• Provisional licensure (LSW or LAC) in the state of New Jersey.

• Experience providing psychotherapy in an outpatient or community-based setting

• Ability to conduct clinical assessments and use professional judgment to guide treatment planning

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to build trust and maintain therapeutic boundaries

• Competence in documentation and case management practices to support continuity of care

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensure or certification in a mental health discipline relevant to outpatient therapy

• Experience working with a wide range of client populations and addressing a range of presenting concerns

• Familiarity with care coordination practices, including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

• Experience using standardized outcome measures to track progress over time

Compensation

Hourly rate: $40 - $70

Clinical Supervision is provided to all provisionally licensed clinicians (LAC or LSW) seeking full clinical licensure.
