This is a primarily remote opportunity with occasional in-office attendance for team meetings.This highly visible role is ideal for an attorney with strong law firm conflicts, ethics, and professional responsibility experience who enjoys analyzing complex legal issues and partnering with attorneys on risk management and business intake matters.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and resolve conflicts of interest related to new client matters, lateral attorney hires, and merger opportunitiesReview new business intake submissions, conduct corporate research, and perform conflicts checksDraft conflict waivers, engagement letters, joint representation letters, and ethical wall documentationAdvise attorneys on conflicts of interest, professional responsibility, and risk management issuesEvaluate and clear conflicts related to incoming partners, attorneys, and staffConduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding ethics and conflicts questionsAssist with firmwide conflicts, ethics, and compliance initiativesLead projects and help improve conflicts processes and proceduresCollaborate with attorneys and firm leadership to resolve complex conflicts mattersMaintain confidentiality while managing sensitive legal and business issuesQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) requiredActive bar membership in good standingMust be licensed in the state where you reside and where the firm maintains an officeMinimum five (5) years of legal practice experienceMinimum two (2) years of experience as a Conflicts Attorney or equivalent senior-level conflicts, ethics, or professional responsibility experienceStrong understanding of Rules of Professional Conduct and conflicts of interest principlesExperience supporting lateral partner hires strongly preferredAbility to independently manage a large volume of complex conflicts mattersExceptional legal research, analytical, and communication skillsExperience working in a fast-paced law firm environment preferredPreferred ExperienceReviewing and clearing conflicts for incoming partnersLaw firm new business intake and conflicts analysisLateral attorney onboardingProfessional responsibility and ethics counselingLitigation and law firm operational processesDrafting waivers and engagement documentationCompensation by LocationSeattle, WA: $146,000-$231,000Portland, OR: $140,000-$220,000San Francisco Bay Area: $176,000-$279,000Los Angeles, CA: $161,000-$254,000San Diego, CA: $159,000-$251,000Colorado: $138,000-$218,000Texas: $140,000-$221,000Illinois: $146,000-$231,000This is an excellent opportunity to join a sophisticated legal team handling complex conflicts and ethics matters for a globally integrated law firm.
