Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS - PALS Must-Have: - Two years of ICU experience - Ability to read and interpret EKG strips - Experience with ventilators Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in the Intensive Care Unit. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and floating as needed. The ICU has a maximum of 8 beds with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2. Charge nurses generally do not take patients but will provide break relief. Nurse aides may be present based on staffing levels and census. Familiarity with Cerner as the electronic medical record system is necessary. Candidates should expect to handle common medical ICU diagnoses and patient types. The unit features a horseshoe layout and is next to the PACU. Shift reports are conducted at the bedside. Block scheduling is generally not available. Travelers can access their schedules from home and indicate availability for extra shifts. Floating may occur, with the potential to be assigned to sister facilities. Candidates will need to work two of the three major holidays, as determined by management. The role requires participation in self-scheduling, which balances individual preferences with staffing needs.
