Position Overview
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Hospitalist & Nocturnist at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Maryland.
Key Responsibilities
- Day Hospitalist APP: round, admit, and discharge patients from the observation unit or round and discharge from the Med/Surg floors.
- Nocturnist APP: perform admissions and provide cross‑coverage with two nocturnist physicians; round, admit, and occasionally discharge patients in the observation unit.
- Participate in rapid‑response team activities and attend weekly huddles, monthly team meetings, and lunch‑and‑learn sessions.
- Use Meditech Expand for documentation and access the internal informatics platform.
Qualifications
- Board‑certified nurse practitioner.
- Hospitalist experience required.
- Ability to work exclusively overnight shifts for nocturnist position.
- Certified in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support.
Schedule
- Night position: 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Day position: 7 AM to 6 PM.
- Full‑time, part‑time, and PRN shifts available.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hospitalist shift: $140,000 to $150,000 per year, plus incentives.
- Nocturnist shift: $150,000 to $165,000 per year, plus incentives; $25,000 commencement bonus.

- Full subspecialty support and a dedicated clinical performance nurse to assist with high‑quality patient care.
