B2B Business Development Manager - Mid West

Position: Business Development Manager – US Operations Overview At Upway, we’re on a mission to make electric mobility accessible to everyone. As the leading platform for certified, pre‑owned e‑bikes, we’re redefining how the world moves—sustainably, affordably, and intelligently. Operating across 8 countries, we’re growing fast and looking for people ready to move with us. Location: Chicago/Minnesota (US Operations team in Los Angeles). Compensation: $80,000–$100,000/year. Responsibilities Own the full partner lifecycle: from cold outreach to onboarding, relationship management, and performance tracking. Drive outbound sales: perform high‑volume prospecting via email, phone, and in‑person visits, especially in the first 1–2 months. Build and grow our partner network in your region, including independent bike shops, large retailers, and OEMs. Source and negotiate inventory of second‑hand electric bikes. Travel extensively to meet with partners, understand their needs, and build long‑term relationships. Act as the face of Upway in the market—representing our brand with professionalism, integrity, and passion. Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure a seamless customer and partner experience. Deliver against ambitious targets while maintaining a high standard of execution and attention to detail. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, sourcing, or partner management, ideally in a fast‑paced or startup environment. Proven track record of owning a sales pipeline and closing deals. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills—able to build trust and influence decisions. High energy and self‑motivation; comfortable working independently, managing time, and pushing through ambiguity. Experience with in‑person client interactions and field sales. Strong organizational skills and bias for action. Passion for sustainability, mobility, and making an impact. Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%).
