Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates total nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department. This role involves participation in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing personnel and other patient team members to maintain professional nursing practice standards in a clinical setting. The RN recognizes that each patient is a unique individual with the right to quality nursing care, emphasizing mutual goal-setting between the nurse and the patient while ensuring the protection of patient rights and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Participate in patient and family education and support.
• Ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards as defined in the ANA Code for Nurses and the State of Michigan Public Health Code.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to uphold clinical standards.
• Recognize and accept individual accountability for clinical judgments and actions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of Emergency Department experience (required).
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, BLS (AHA).
• Active RN license in the state of Michigan.
