Lacrosse Coach

Duties & Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach is to coach and provide VCU Lacrosse student‑athletes with high‑level instruction in the sport of Lacrosse at the NCAA Division I level to prepare them for competition in local, regional, and national arenas. Under the direction of the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach, this position adheres to the VCU Athletics mission and core values. 60% Coaching: Coaching and instructing student‑athletes at the NCAA Division I level; video analysis and scouting of opponents. 25% Recruiting: Assist in the recruitment of academically qualified and athletically talented student‑athletes; maintain accurate files and evaluate prospective student‑athletes; manage travel involved with recruitment. 10% Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate files of current student‑athletes; handle required NCAA, A10, and University paperwork; monitor academic progress of student‑athletes; manage travel for practices and competition. 5% Other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach to promote the Athletic Department’s strategic plan. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree or equivalent training & experience. Knowledge of NCAA, A10, and University regulations regarding women’s lacrosse. Previous lacrosse coaching experience. Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse population. First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (or achieve certifications within 30 days of hire). Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications An advanced degree or equivalent training and work experience. Playing experience as a collegiate lacrosse athlete. Experience recruiting and/or coaching women's lacrosse at the Division I collegiate level. Experience with recruiting and video match analysis software systems.
