Mental Health/Academic Counselor – Part Time Position Type: Student Support Services / Special Education / School Counselor Location: Districtwide Date Available: August 2026 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Conduct drug and alcohol assessments and make recommendations Provide guidance information and resources Make referrals to appropriate community resources in accordance with school district guidelines Coordinate and implement group guidance programs, including anger management, grief, COA, changing families, anxiety, social skills, stress management, peer relations, and other topics as deemed necessary Respond to crisis situations when appropriate Collaborate with and support the Student Assistant Services Department Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field required Master's Degree and/or License in a related field preferred Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good relationships with students, peers, parents, and community Well organized with good time management skills Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications Submission of PA School Personnel Health form Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances Terms of Employment $25.00 per hour, 499 hours for the year Equal Opportunity Statement The Owen J.
