DSP - Day Hab (6007)

Salary Range: $20.40 per hour

Shift Schedule: Monday--8:30 AM-3:30PM, Tuesday- 8:30 AM-3:30PM, Wednesday-8:30am-3:30pm, Thursday--8:30am-3:30pm, Friday-8:30am-3:30pm-Total 32 hours.

Position Summary

The Day Hab Direct Support Professional supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to achieve the goals identified in the individual's service plan while exemplifying service standards of excellence in all direct care and operational duties.

Responsibilities

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Physical demands include frequent standing, pushing, pulling, walking, stooping, lifting and twisting.
• Ability to perform physical restraint if necessary.
• Ability to transfer, change, shower assist with toileting and all personal care needs of the individuals supported.
• Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy, complete administrative tasks, problem solve, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, and crisis manage.
• Cross functional communication skills, written and oral, which convey clear and concise information in a professional and respectful manner to individuals supported, family members/guardians, peers, government agencies, community partners and all employees throughout the organization.
• Assist individuals with skill building and attainment of individual service plans/service plan goals.
• Implement Individual service plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities based on assessments, objectives and goals with case management.
• Actively advocates for individuals served and demonstrates agency mission and values in all interpersonal and professional relations.
• Attends mandatory trainings and meetings as assigned and required. Maintains all required certifications.
• Conducts oneself professionally, maintaining respect, following regulations and agency policies and adhering to confidentiality requirements in all assigned duties.
• Assist individual in resolving health and hygiene issues.
• Perform safe lifts and transfers of individuals who use wheelchairs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Valid driver's license and acceptable CORI is required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.

High School diploma or GED is required

A valid driver's license

Acceptable driving record results

Acceptable background check results including CORI, SORI, OIG, and fingerprinting
