Party & Event Host

Store - OMAHA-CENTRAL, NE Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions. Provide fast and friendly checkout experience. Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments. Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey. Assist with omni‑channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes. Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned. Support shrink and safety programs. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute company policies and standards. Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promote commitment to the organization’s vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members. Cross‑train in Custom Framing selling and production. Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Energetic, enthusiastic, and personable. Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages and coworkers. Excellent people skills. Experience working with children and children’s events. Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills and listening skills. Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem‑solving skills. Retail and/or customer service experience required. Physical Requirements Ability to remain standing for long periods of time. Ability to move throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment. Work Environment Public retail store setting with climate‑controlled public areas and some non‑climate‑controlled stock rooms. Some outdoor work may be required to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks. Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
