Elementary School Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking a Lower Elementary School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at an independent school in Newton, Massachusetts. Responsibilities: Knowledge of and experience in hands-on and integrated learning, as well as early childhood development. Be highly motivated, hard-working, collaborative, enthusiastic about working with young children, energetic and flexible; demonstrate a desire to learn; and show initiative. Have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with early elementary-aged students. Build a joyful and nurturing classroom community that sparks intellectual curiosity and growth for all students, and demonstrates clear and affirming classroom management. Collaborate with one’s grade level team to plan and teach an integrated, mission-aligned, early elementary program, including literacy, writing, math, science, social studies, and social emotional learning. Supervise children in the classroom, during recesses and dismissal, and on field trips. Qualifications: Bachelor's in Elementary Education or related degree required. Montessori certification for ages 6-9 or in training / willingness to undertake training. Massachusetts Educator License for Grades 1-3. Experience working in a Montessori classroom.
