Job Overview

Become a part of our team at the Department of Veterans VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Menlo Park, CA, as a Physician – Psychiatrist!

1. Conduct evaluations and manage patient care through both in-person visits and telehealth services.

   • The selected candidate will assess patients in outpatient mental health settings and may oversee trainees, including medical students and residents, in these environments.

   • Adhere to safety protocols, environmental standards, and infection control measures. Provide guidance to other healthcare team members on preventive medicine initiatives and relevant medical practices.

1. Lead and supervise the clinical operations of staff and trainees within their treatment teams, including RNPs and clinical pharmacists.

2. Participate in hospital or service-level committees, such as the Medication Management Committee or Pain Committee.

3. Support and promote the philosophy and objectives of VAPAHCS.

4. Ensure that research outcome studies are conducted in accordance with VAPAHCS policies and procedures.

• Salary Range: Expected between $301,714 - $320,972 (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).
• Education Debt Reduction Program: Authorized for student loan repayment.
• Work Schedule: Full-time, with hours determined by the supervisor.
• Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases.
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for CME.
• Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with contributions up to 5% by the organization.
• Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many plans can be carried into retirement).
• Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
• CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time and board-certified).
• Malpractice Coverage: Free liability protection with tail coverage included.
• Contractual Terms: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
