Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Summary:
A CVOR Registered Nurse specializes in providing specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries. The role involves delivering evidence-based, individualized care to ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients pre-operatively, collecting comprehensive physiologic data relevant to cardiovascular procedures.
• Develop and coordinate the perioperative plan of care in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Implement and monitor patient care during surgical procedures, utilizing advanced skills and protocols specific to CVOR nursing.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in electronic health records.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care instructions.

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• BSN degree required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) months of relevant CVOR nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, sterilization, and perioperative protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
