Human Resources Generalist - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

The Human Resources Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle, providing day‑to‑day HR partnership across recruitment, onboarding, engagement, development, and offboarding. The role acts as a trusted point of contact for both employees and managers, and partners with leadership to align people strategies with business objectives. Location Chicago, IL (onsite / in person) Compensation USD 85,000 per year Key Responsibilities Process and audit bi-weekly payroll to support accuracy and timely delivery Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records Partner with plant managers to keep employee timekeeping records and processes accurate Generate HR reports and metrics to enable data‑driven decision‑making Ensure data integrity, system compliance, and adherence to recordkeeping standards Coordinate with Finance on payroll reconciliations and related reporting Manage full‑cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer letters Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements, competencies, and selection criteria Coordinate background checks, reference checks, and pre‑employment screening Facilitate new hire orientation and structured onboarding for a strong day‑one experience Maintain and update applicant records and recruiting program documentation Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) Ensure timely completion of employee benefit enrollments and support open enrollment activities Respond to employee benefits inquiries accurately and with care Conduct compensation benchmarking and salary analysis to support market competitiveness Process and manage leave of absence requests, including FMLA and personal leaves Coordinate with third‑party vendors to resolve issues and maintain service quality Serve as a resource for employee concerns, including guidance related to conflict resolution and workplace issues Conduct thorough workplace investigations, documenting findings and outcomes Support organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Maintain and periodically update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook Support performance management processes, including PIPs and annual review cycles Coordinate employee training and professional development programs aligned to organizational goals Facilitate manager and employee workshops on topics such as communication, compliance, and leadership Support employee engagement survey administration, analysis, and action planning Coordinate recognition programs, culture initiatives, and events that support a positive work environment Track and maintain training completion and compliance records Respond promptly to employment verification requests and reference inquiries Support HR audits and annual compliance filings, including EEO‑1, ACA, and OSHA reporting Maintain physical and electronic HR files according to document retention schedules and policies Assist with HR project management, process improvement initiatives, and departmental goal achievement Provide flexible backup support across HR functions to maintain continuity of service Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 3–5 years of progressive HR generalist experience in a professional environment Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required) PHR, SHRM‑CP, or equivalent HR certification preferred Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, or equivalent systems Strong working knowledge of employment law and current HR best practices Demonstrated experience managing full‑cycle recruitment processes Experience leading or collaborating on employee safety initiatives Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism Self‑starter mindset with the ability to learn and use various benefit provider websites Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience supporting Code of Conduct audits and related corrective action processes preferred Technologies English, Spanish HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) Life Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Annual Bonus Potential Benefits Details (Offered) 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr Authentico Foods
