Part-Time CookRidge Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation | Wilkesboro, NC

Ridge Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our dietary team on a part-time basis.

The Cook plays an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents by preparing nutritious, appealing meals while following dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and resident dietary requirements

• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and special diet instructions accurately

• Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner

• Follow proper food handling, storage, preparation, and temperature-control procedures

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area

• Follow applicable state and facility dietary, health, and safety regulations

• Work closely with the dietary and nursing teams to meet residents' needs

• Provide friendly, respectful, and helpful service to residents and coworkers

• Help maintain a safe and welcoming dining environment

• Previous cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or institutional setting

• Current ServSafe or food safety certification preferred/required as applicable

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Knowledge of proper food safety, sanitation, and storage practices

• Ability to follow menus, recipes, and special dietary instructions

• Dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team

• Ability to work in a resident-centered environment while maintaining safety and professionalism
