JOB OVERVIEW
•Job Title: Physician - Hematology/Oncology
•Job Type: Permanent
•Location: Dothan, AL
•Service Setting: Outpatient & Inpatient Cancer Center
•Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
•Coverage Period: Ongoing
•Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon - Fri (Hours TBD)
•On-Call Shift Schedule: Shared Call
•Call Type: Rotational
•Call Ratio: 1:4 PATIENT INFORMATION
•Patient Demographics: Adults (general hematology/oncology)
•Admissions: Yes
•Rounding: Yes (inpatient cancer floor)
•Phone Consults: Yes
•Case Mix: Hematology and oncology patients across full spectrum FACILITY INFORMATION
•No. of Beds in Department: 420-bed hospital; 21 infusion rooms; dedicated inpatient oncology floors
•Trauma Level: Level II
•Office Equipment Available: Radiation therapy and infusion center onsite; certified oncology nurses; onsite fitness facility
•Specialty Backup Available: Radiation Oncology, hospitalist support, radiology, pain management, neurosurgery
•Support Staff Available: 3 board-certified Hem/Onc physicians, certified oncology nurses, multidisciplinary cancer team
•Reason for Coverage: Practice expansion PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
•Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
•Rate: Highly competitive compensation package with productivity bonus
•Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Paid malpractice with tail; paid interview expenses
•Additional Benefits: $100k signing bonus, health/dental/disability/life insurance, CME/licensure allowance, student loan repayment REQUIRED PROCEDURES
•Outpatient chemotherapy management
•Inpatient consults and co-management
•Hematologic evaluations and treatments JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Licenses: Must be licensed or eligible in Alabama
•Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
•Experience: Fellowship trained in Hem/Onc
•Other Qualifications: Team-oriented, able to work in collaborative environment; PSLF eligible DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a hospital-based cancer center
•Participate in shared 1:4 call rotation
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary cancer care team
•Engage in both inpatient and outpatient care delivery
•Participate in teaching and academic opportunities through affiliation with ACOM
