Shift Supervisor - Melt Shop

What You'll Do Work to ensure all steel is manufactured to CMC specifications and safely in a timely manner Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks, refractory wear, etc) To ensure slag foaming is appropriate Adjust flux additions based on slag analysis to optimize slag chemistry Work with personnel in the operation, monitoring, and performance of all melt shop equipment (caster, furnace, cranes, ladle furnace, etc.) Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors about possible production issues, concerns, and needs Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others (pulpit operator, process manager, maintenance personnel, etc) Responsible for controlling and replenishing the inventory of consumables needed on the operations floor Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed Fill in or assist supervisor in the performing of duties when requested and needed What You'll Need Minimum 5 years of Mill Experience Strong computer skills required (good knowledge of Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Ability to read roll and guide drawings as necessary Work which may include weekends and holidays Data entry in SAP /QMOS Ability to work with a budget for lowering cost (SAP) Must be able to schedule work through work orders and/or delegation Ability to work in extreme heat Your Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required We are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
